The Patient
A 61 year old female, 5 feet tall and 200 lbs. History of gastric bypass. A large and prominent abdomen with significant tissue excess in the lower abdomen and mons area.
Several procedures were performed to achieve a more sculpted look, including abdominoplasty, mons reduction and liposuction of medial, or inner, thighs.
Main indications for moving forward with abdominoplasty, commonly known as a tummy tuck, can include dramatic weight loss, stubborn or hard to exercise away belly fat.
Patients are often looking for a flatter stomach area and reduction of the lower abdomen/pelvic area, commonly known as a "pooch". Preferably they have gotten to their ideal weight that they will be able to maintain moving forward to keep long lasting results.
A Behind the Scenes Look
The procedures generally take anywhere from 2.5 to 3 hours and can be done on anyone ranging from 18 years old up to 70.
Removal of the fat and tissue reveal a significant reduction in the protruding abdomen and pelvic area.
